This is the Christmas story for children. Once, there was a family which was so poor that they could not afford a Christmas tree.
They decorated a dead branch with the pieces of paper tied with string.
The children asked Mom and Dad about what presents they might get under their ‘tree’. But there were no presents.
Mom told her children, “Ask God to send us what He wants us to have.” And they did pray.
On Christmas Eve, the children watched for visitors, but none came. Then, late night, someone came with bags.
It was the church priest. He had not been able to get the poor family off his mind.
Later, he went around town asking for contributions for the poor family. He filled his car with the bags of groceries and gifts and gave them to the poor family.
The family was very happy. God had heard their prayers. The priest had been sent by God.
