The Bear and the Bee

Once upon a time, there was a bear named Benny who loved honey more than anything. One morning, Benny checked his kitchen and saw that his honey jar was empty. “Oh no! No honey!” he cried. So, he decided to go into the forest to find some.

In the forest, Benny spotted a beehive high up in a tree. He could smell the sweet honey inside. “Yum, honey!” he said, licking his lips. He reached his big paw into the beehive to grab some.

Suddenly, a tiny bee zoomed out. “Hey, Benny! That’s our honey! Leave it alone!” the bee buzzed.

Benny frowned. “I’m bigger and stronger than you,” he said. “I can take whatever I want. Now, shoo!” He reached into the beehive again.

ZAP! The bee stung Benny right on his nose! “Ouch!” Benny yelled, rubbing his nose. He was so mad! He grabbed a stick and tried to swat the bee, but the bee was too quick. Benny got angrier and angrier. “I’ll get you!” he roared.

The bee flew back into the beehive. “Got you now!” Benny shouted. He swung his stick and smashed the beehive into bits. But then, he heard a loud buzzing sound. ZZZZZ! Thousands of bees flew out of the broken beehive! They buzzed around Benny’s head.

ZAP! A bee stung his ear. ZAP! ZAP! More bees stung his arms and legs. They even stung his nose again! “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!” Benny cried. He ran through the forest with the bees chasing him, stinging him all the way home.

Benny finally got home and slammed the door shut. Safe at last! But then, he heard his mom, Mrs. Bear, behind him. “Benny, did you lose your temper again?” she asked, shaking her head.

Benny nodded, feeling sore and sad as he counted his stings. “Here’s some medicine for those stings,” said Mrs. Bear. “And by the way, we have honey in the kitchen. It was just behind the sugar jar!”

Moral: Getting angry and acting without thinking can lead to big trouble.
