Kind Mango Tree and Naughty Eagle

Once, in a beautiful forest, lived many animals and birds. At the heart of the forest stood a huge mango tree. Every year, the tree bore sweet, juicy mangoes and shared them with everyone for free. All the animals loved visiting the tree and eating its fruits. But Goldie, the eagle, was upset because no one came to buy fruit from his garden anymore.

One evening, dark clouds filled the sky, and a big storm arrived. Sunny, a little pigeon, was out near the mango tree. To stay safe from the wind and rain, Sunny sat under the tree.

Goldie, who was hiding nearby, became jealous. He picked up a stone and threw it at a branch of the mango tree. The branch broke and fell on Sunny, who was badly hurt and couldn’t be saved.

When the storm ended, all the animals found Sunny’s body under the tree. They were angry and thought the mango tree was responsible for Sunny’s death. The tree tried to explain that it wasn’t its fault, but no one listened. The animals decided never to eat the tree’s mangoes again and stopped talking to it. The mango tree felt very lonely.

In the same forest lived Lilly, a caring sparrow, with her three baby birds. Every day, Lilly flew far away to find fruits for her children because, in their forest, the only other fruits came from Goldie’s garden—and Lilly had nothing to trade for them. So she traveled to distant places, which took a long time.

One day, while Lilly was away, it started to rain hard. The little sparrows waited for their mother, worried and cold. When Lilly returned, Goldie accused her of stealing his fruits. Even though Lilly explained the truth, the other birds believed Goldie and told Lilly to leave her nest. Goldie was quick to take over their home, and Lilly and her babies had nowhere to go.

Feeling sad, Lilly and her babies flew through the heavy rain, searching for shelter. It was hard for the babies to fly, and they got tired. Just when they thought they had nowhere to stay, they spotted the big mango tree. The tree smiled warmly and invited them to rest under its branches. He gave them mangoes to eat, and as they ate, something magical happened—mangoes dropped from the tree and formed a small, cozy house for Lilly and her chicks.

The next morning, the rain still fell, and the flood washed away many homes. Other animals, cold and wet, came to the mango tree for shelter. They saw how happy Lilly and her babies were and felt sorry for blaming the tree. They all said, “We are sorry, Mango Tree. We should have listened to you.” The tree forgave them and, with magic, made houses out of mangoes for all the lost animals.

When Goldie saw this, he was angry and tried to chase everyone away. But the animals stood together and told him to leave. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck, making Goldie very scared, and he flew away.

Everyone laughed and cheered. The mango tree was once again surrounded by friends. The animals thanked the tree for caring and sharing.

Moral: Always help others in need. Do not believe rumors without knowing the truth. Forgiveness makes friendship stronger. When you are kind, kindness comes back to you.
