The Fearless is the Akbar and Birbal short story in English. One day, Akbar asked, “Who is the most fearless person in this world?” All the courtiers except Birbal, replied, “Of course, it’s you, Your Majesty!”
Since Birbal was quiet, Akbar asked him, “Tell me who the bravest person in this world is.”
“A child, Your Majesty!” said Birbal.
Everyone was surprised with Birbal’’s answer. “Prove it, said Akbar. “Certainly, Your Majesty!” said Birbal.
Next day, Birbal brought a toddler to the court. The child was so small that he could barely walk or talk.
Birbal gave the toddler to Akbar, who cuddled the child. Soon, the child began playing with Akbar. He pulled Akbar’s moustache.
Birbal asked Akbar, “Your Majesty, isn’t a child the most fearless of all? Who else would have the courage to pull your moustache?”
Akbar was very happy with Birbal’s intelligence. “Well said, Birbal!” he said, and gifted him an emerald ring.
Moral:True bravery comes from innocence and a fearless heart. A child, free from pride and fear, naturally shows courage without hesitation. Sometimes, wisdom lies in simplicity and purity.
