This the short story of Tenali Rama and Rose. Once, a King from Arab gifted Krishnadevaraya a bouquet of beautiful roses with beautiful colors. The king also placed it in his palace garden. In a few days, all those plants bloomed.
One day, The son of Tenali Raman, who was passing by, saw this and plucked the rose flowers thinking to gift it to his mother and she would feel happy.
Seeing this, the guards arrested Tenali Raman’s son for the crime of splitting flowers. They were carrying him to the king with a hand full of flowers.
Tenali Rama was shocked to see that his son had been arrested. Tenali Rama asked the Guards, “where are you taking my son?”.
They said, “We grabbed your son stealing the rose from the palace garden. You can see the flowers in his hand
Tenali Rama wanted to save his son. He said, Today is a sunny day. He immediately took his top off which he was putting on and rolled it around his son, saying that this piece would protect him as the sun was high today.
Tenali Raman’s son immediately started thinking. My father was telling me something through this top.
He wondered in a few seconds what it would be and understood his meaning. He immediately started eating the rose flowers one by one. He was wrapped in a towel so the guards could not see what he was eating.
In a few minutes, they reached the place where the king was.
The guards took a look at the king and said, “O King! we caught Tenali Rama’s son when he was stealing the rose flower in the palace garden”. He must be punished.
The King also inquired immediately. Finally, the King asked where all the flowers that were stolen.
The guards said, “All flowers are in his hand.” You can see.
The King saw at Tenali’s son and said, “Show me your hand.”
He showed his hand to the king and said, “O king, They are lying. I never picked any flowers.
Just to humiliate my father, they simply arrested me and blamed me profusely.

The guards were shocked to hear this. They thought to themselves that His son would surpass his father, Tenali Ramana. Tenali Rama’s son was released due to no evidence. The King also gave the first and final warning to the guards.
Tenali Rama’s son happily went to his house, thinking that he had escaped from a major problem with his father’s help and thinking as wisely as his father.
